Anthony Bourdain Remembered, Book by CNN

Anthony Bourdain holds a very special place in my heart. My family has always been a huge fan, spending lots of time watching No Reservations when I was perhaps a bit too young, and later on relishing over Parts Unknown. His humor always on point, perspective fresh and truthful. At the very least, he was a unifier. And I think we need more people like him, especially today.

But I kind of forgot about him for a while until my husband and I took a trip up north to Pinecrest, CA for a wedding earlier this month. Our Airbnb in the woods was equipped with nothing but cable tv, something I genuinely look forward to every time we travel somewhere. We often stick to one channel for the course of a trip - Food Network, HGTV, Adult Swim, or anything ghost related. This time, while scanning for some background noise when we arrived, I stumbled on an episode of No Reservations. And it turns out this was an entire channel dedicated to Tony. 24/7. We were hooked again, loving the early 2000s fashion and tv style. Anthony's voice soundtracking the weekend. We would say "Goodnight Anthony!", "Be right back, Anthony!", "Morning Anthony!"... Downright comforting.

That weekend holds a special place in our hearts for many reasons, and I'll never forget sitting on the couch with our coffees, or ending the night with some charcuterie, while watching some old episodes of No Reservations.

So this week's coffee table book is in honor of the GOAT. I can't even handle thinking about what he'd have to say about the state of the world right now, but it sure is fun to think about.

Oh, and there's no doubt he would be included in my dream blunt circle.
