NOVEMBER '26
A mood board for the coziest month, from parade mornings to soup-for-dinner nights.
Oh November. Cozy. Cozy. Cozy. We are officially in it. Fall is upon us. Cooler nights and mornings. Scorching heat by midday perhaps. Time change is taking place right about now. And it's finally acceptable for me to watch Hallmark Christmas movies 24/7.
I really fell in love with November back in high school. My best friend and I just romanticized the hell out of it without even knowing what we were doing. We made Thanksgiving and "early Christmas" our whole personalities. Any excuse to do wholesome fall activities - think baking cookies from scratch, tea every night, comfort shows, matching pajamas, etc.
But even before high school, my family always made Thanksgiving super special. My favorite thing in the world was getting up early, staying in pajamas, and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade with my mom while we chopped and prepped for the feast ahead.. The smell of celery, onion and peeled potatoes forever imprinting the holiday on my olfactory senses. Eventually, aunts, uncles and cousins start turning up. Music is on. Maybe the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving episode is on somewhere in the background. Dogs are running around vacuuming. Perfectly chaotic and home to some of my favorite childhood memories.
Thanksgiving has changed throughout the years as we all get older, start families, and bounce around. But November has stayed the same. A cozy time for being with friends and family, keeping old traditions and making new ones with our daughter. Curling up on the couch at night (which starts at 4pm) and feeling happy it's finally comfortable enough outside to have soup for dinner. It's a great little month.
