HOMEBODY

Cozy corners, a home should feel like a hug. Interior inspiration for nooks, lighting, and lived-in character.

Cozy corners, a home should feel like a hug.

Another true love in my life is interior (and exterior) design. For the longest time, everyone in my family thought I was going to be an architect. I definitely thought I was going to be an architect. Until a fateful visit to a college's architecture program displayed under-the-desk "cots" where the students would sleep trying to get all their work done. This, plus a distaste for math, led me to pursue other forms of design. Of course, getting a degree in graphic design would mean a lot of sleepless nights as well, also in the studio, but without the cots.

I am still to this day wildly obsessed with houses and blueprints and interiors. All of it. Landscaping, views, the street. Lighting, lighting, lighting. That perfect breeze. A home with nooks and unique bits, character, lived-in energy, and above all, cozy comfort. This is what makes me a homebody, with a forever evolving style that honestly changes with the seasons.

I want to end with, "home is where the heart is," but I don't know if I can.

More of what I'm saving lately: my aesthetic vision board.
